ABOUT US
Mountain Jubilee's are grassroots, volunteer-run radio shows that aim to celebrate and enrich the community of traditional and contemporary Independant String Band musicians.
The Mountain Jubilee Show consists of brilliant but unknown musicians that welcome the LIVE recording, and airing, of their material on radio. The radio shows produced are created through group effort, by the musical community for the musical community and of the musical community. It's simply that music, here, is artistic and social communication rather than a consumer commodity.
We wish to create an environment where the music is as meaningful as it is when we gather to swap tunes and play in a friend's living room or meet to play at a campsite during a summer festival. As such, we feel that it is important to keep the event non-profit and volunteer run; whether we are taking tickets, sweeping the floor, organizing an event, or playing music; we are all volunteers contributing to make this thing happen...
"We're not the best at what we do... we're the only ones that do what we do!"
SINGER-SONGWRITERS
Do you have new [unregistered] material that you would like Copyright protected? The Mountain Jubilee stage was conceived to aid the creation and performance of new musical works... the Jubilee's can give you FREE copyright protection through our 'witnessed' public performance program.
NOTE: Email us lyrics to the songs you wrote and performed on the Mountain Jubilee stage. This data will be filed, along with the program recording, under your name. If your material is being used without your permission or knowledge by another party, at a later date, you will have a legal claim on the copyright of that material. You can simply direct the party using your material [or parts thereof] to your Mountain Jubilee file for confirmation. The Mountain Jubilee copyright protection program is a FREE service offered to all talent that grace the Mountain Jubilee stage.
VOLUNTEERS
The Mountain Jubilee Show Needs YOU! Volunteers are key to the success of the Mountain Jubilee Show. When a show is over there are lots of activities we require help with in preparing for the next event. All positions require dependability, a positive attitude, the ability to work independently or with a team. So help support Canadiana [roots music] in your community by volunteering with the Mountain Jubilee Show, no matter what time of year it is. It's a great way to get a new perspective of the music industry and meet lots of interesting, talented & dynamic people.
If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers you can contact our Volunteer Coordinator LUANN BURTAN at: ittybittysignshop@shaw.ca
